Durango School District (DSD) has recommended a consolidation of Sunnyside Elementary School as part of ongoing planning related to enrollment trends and long-term school alignment across the district.

District staff presented data to the DSD Board of Education during the April 14 Work Session, which included enrollment trends, class size, and fiscal impact. The data can be viewed in this presentation.

The Board has decided to move forward with a community engagement plan before considering potential action. This process is focused on gathering input, understanding potential impacts, and hearing from families, staff, and community members.
