“Durango High School is thrilled to partner with such supportive local businesses,” says Durango High School Athletic Director Adam Bright. “Their sponsorships will allow us to provide our student-athletes opportunities to train and compete on a safe playing field, be more inclusive to host other sporting programs and support community needs around athletic field spaces."
Bank of Colorado, Morehart Murphy Regional Auto Center, and Coca-Cola Durango-Farmington stepped up as sponsors of the new stadium scoreboard, where their support for high school athletics is front and center, giving them excellent brand recognition and exposure. Additionally, the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad donated both sponsorship dollars and in-kind trade in support of the stadium rebuild and the Athletic departmental needs to support student programs.
“Corporate and business sponsorship and support are essential to our schools in Western Colorado. We depend on such partnerships to create quality opportunities for our scholar athletes” says Durango High School Principal Jon Hoerl. “These sponsors are helping our school build our athletic facilities and programs to new heights.”
Our students have many years of accolades, scholarships and national recognition for their efforts in music and athletics. The current stadium at DHS was built in the 1990s. While the stadium received a facelift in the early 2000s, these “patches” have well exceeded their expiration point. The district looked to the community and partners to help build a multi-use stadium that can serve our students and our community for years to come, and these sponsors are making it all possible.
This multi-million dollar project brings the promise of an all-inclusive, stand alone multi-purpose field and stadium that can serve our students who are in band, football, soccer, lacrosse, cheer and dance. The stadium will also serve our community as well, who has a need for a community multi-purpose field and stadium such as this. Without the realization of local sponsorships, this project would not be possible.
There are still large sponsorship and corporate branding opportunities at the stadium. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or learning more about the project, visit us online at demonfans.durangoschools.org, or contact the Durango High School Athletic Department at (970) 259-1630.
