Dear Durango School District 9-R community, Thank you for your continued support and flexibility as we strive to create meaningful learning opportunities for our students throughout the most recent wave of COVID-19. As cases and transmission in our community lessen, there is an opportunity for our district to adjust our COVID-19 response.
On March 31, the Durango Education Foundation presented 9-R with $250,000 for the Bridge the Gap Campaign. “We wanted to give the school district extra funds to help those kids who are less fortunate and continue to support education in this community,” said Tom Geyer, Board President of Durango Education Foundation.
The March 29, 2022 9-R Board of Education Regular Meeting will begin at 5:00PM in the Board Room in the Administration Building, 201 E. 12th Street, Durango.
We know you’re thinking of all the things you need to do to make sure your student is ready for school. Getting vaccinated is an important part of their school readiness and keeps children from catching and spreading diseases that can make them sick and potentially disrupt in-person learning.
Durango 9-R Student Support Services and School Liaisons are looking for volunteers to build six Little Free Library Boxes with the goal of increasing book access and reading opportunities for students in our community.
Currently just over 15% of the Bond funds have been committed, with 85% remaining. Local participation remains strong, with 69% of funds allocated locally (including charter allocations).
