November 2021 COVID-19 Summary

November was a whirlwind with the push to the holiday break. We hope our families enjoyed a little reprieve as we head into the two-week home stretch to the winter break. As families may be aware, our goal this year has remained the same, as we want to optimize student access to in-person learning while simultaneously promoting health and safety by minimizing the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Here are some COVID-19 updates from 9-R for the month of November.

COVID-19 Serial Testing Update for the Community

The Durango School District 9-R has a goal of optimizing student access to in-person learning while simultaneously promoting health and safety by minimizing the risk of COVID-19 transmission. The many mitigation strategies suggested and supported by the CDPHE and our local health authorities play an important role in ensuring success with this goal.

Preschool and Kindergarten Registration for 2021/22

9-R is encouraging families to register for preschool and kindergarten for the 2021/22 school year as soon as possible. It is vital to ensure staffing and program availability to all of those who need the services. Registration is open and families are encouraged to register ASAP. The district preschool program is licensed to serve 16 students in a class, and currently the district is making budgetary and staffing decisions based on how many classes it needs next year.
